Stansford International School was established in the city of Puducherry in 2006 by Sam Paul Educational Trust – a Christian Minority Trust, with Dr S. R. Sam Paul M.E., Ph.D., BL., as its Founder Chairman, to provide a total balanced environment focused on equipping students with 21st century skills including: global awareness, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, leadership, responsibility compassion and initiative.
Dr Sam Paul is a post graduate in Engineering from C.E.G Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, Tamilnadu. He established his first educational institution – Dr Anbu Paul Teacher Training Institute in Thuthipet, Puducherry in the academic year 2004-2005, followed by Paulsons Teacher Training Institute and Paulsons College of Education in Pulichapallam. Dr Anbu Paul College of Education and Pauls Teacher Training Institute were established the following academic year. Dr Anbu Paul College of Physical Education, Paulsons College of Physical Education, Christ College of Engineering and Technology and Christ Institute of Technology are the other colleges established by the trust in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
The management also established Billabong High International School in Puducherry in 2013, Christ International School in Puducherry in 2017, and British International Academy in Puducherry in 2018.
